Installing WordPress on a new path/folder is really simple. Actually there’s nothing really to it. If you’re installing it locally all it takes is dragging the contents into the folder you’re working in, create an htaccess, update the wp-config.php , set a few permissions and holy guacamole batman!! you now have a blog (do create your database though).
But who has time for that?
As easy as that sounds, it’s a mundane task and who has time for that? If you’ve been working with WordPress for a while you’ll understand that some things are better automated, like installation. Sure there’s servers that install WordPress for you with the push of a button, but what about locally? or on a test/dev server? I think that’s where automation, at least shell automation makes the most sense.
